Ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall

I arrived at Flo and Tom’s flat just as they were finishing getting ready together before heading to Chelsea Old Town Hall. Flo wore a dress from RIXO with blue shoes that matched her bouquet and Tom’s tie.

They shared a taxi over to Chelsea and walked into the Brydon Room side by side, which I always think takes away so many of the nerves. So much of the anticipation disappears when you’ve already spent the morning together. Guests were waiting outside the town hall when they arrived, excited to see them both.

One of my favourite moments came just after the first kiss when the whole room burst into cheers and applause and everyone immediately wanted another kiss. There was so much joy in the room for those few seconds and naturally a second first kiss followed!

After the ceremony some of Flo’s pupils came to see her outside the town hall. They were so excited to see her and it was such a sweet moment.

Couples Portraits in Chelsea

St Luke’s Gardens is the perfect space for a few couples portraits afterwards and to add some greenery to the city wedding!

I’m always reminded of Flo stopping at the flower stall whenever I walk past it in Chelsea now.

One of my favourite things about documentary wedding photography in London is the way the city reacts around you. People congratulating you from across the street, smiling as they walk past, little moments of excitement from complete strangers that become part of the day without anyone planning for it.

Reception at The Ivy Chelsea Garden

By the time everyone arrived at The Ivy Chelsea Garden glasses were already being poured while people settled in before lunch.

I absolutely love the atmosphere in the glasshouse for smaller weddings. The colours, the lighting, the mix of textures, it all feels very warm and intimate once everyone is gathered together around the long table.
